Three styles

Diagonal across the center (the default) is the classic draft or copy stamp. Straight in the center reads like a label, and repeated tiles cover the whole page, so even part of a page still carries the mark.

Opacity can be light (15%), medium (30%) or strong (50%); size small, medium or large; color grey (the default) or red.

Any language works

The watermark is drawn as a transparent image and placed on top of each page. Because it's an image rather than text in a PDF font, any language works, including Korean, accented letters and symbols.

The page content underneath isn't re-rendered, so the document's own text stays sharp and selectable. The watermark itself can't be selected or searched.

What a watermark can and can't do

A visible watermark shows where a copy came from and discourages reuse. It isn't a lock: someone with PDF editing software can remove or cover it.

If a document shouldn't be read by others at all, add a password with Protect PDF as well.

Questions

Can someone remove the watermark?

Yes, with PDF editing tools it can be removed or covered. Treat it as a deterrent, not as protection.

Will it hide the text underneath?

At light or medium opacity the text stays readable through it. Strong is more noticeable but can make small print harder to read.

Can I use a logo image?

No. Only text you type can be used as a watermark here.
